Chris Brown’s ‘Fortune’
Chris Brown’s “Fortune” is full of some of the most boilerplate R&B and urban pop to have been released this year. Strip away the million-dollar beats and the star cameos (including rappers Nas and Wiz Khalifa) and the album, Brown’s fifth in seven years, rings jarringly hollow. Brown is credited as a co-writer on all of the songs, but he has little on his mind beyond the expected themes of “sexing” and turning up the music.
