Springsteen show is a Fenway classic

Comments

This was a terrific concert. Springsteen is an unbelievable showman and really knows how to throw a party! That said, the sound was terrible. We were sitting straight out from the stage in the grandstands near home plate -- so more or less where most of the crowd was -- and could hardly understand a word he was singing, or even when he was just talking. He's put together a terrific version of the E Street Band for this tour, but the three-story tall speakers just kind of garbled it all together. Maybe right in front of the stage, where reviewers no doubt sit, it sounded great, I don't know. But they should try sitting in a regular seat.

Hmmm Dutchman. I was in Sec 8 and my companion and I were commenting on how great the sound was, both in comparison to the horrible acoustics of the Boston Garden and in General. I agree that the sound when Bruce spoke, especially the intro to We Are Alive, was muffled. I'm back again tonight with seats in Sec 19, behind the plate, so I hope you're wrong. As for the show, I hope the Globe has a photo of Bruce and the Boston cop dancing.
