Alfie Boe may be best known on these shores as a Tony Award winner for “La Boheme” and in his native England as both a star on the opera stage and in the West End with an acclaimed stint as Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables.” But inside the musical theater/classical crossover packaging beats the heart of a man bursting to hoist his horns.
“I’m a bit of a metal freak,” he says with a laugh on the phone from a Dallas tour stop.
