After discord, harmonious encore for Benjamin Zander
Benjamin Zander, one of Boston’s most prominent classical music figures, is back leading a youth orchestra. Zander founded the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra less than a year ago, after he was fired from the New England Conservatory for hiring a former sex offender to film the school’s youth orchestra without telling NEC administrators. For most anybody else, building a 117-member ensemble from scratch would be overwhelming. But Zander’s group will make its debut Nov. 25, at Symphony Hall.
