SHOW ME YOUR STUFF-ING AT MACHINE

Machine, 1254 Boylston St., Boston. Wednesday, 10 p.m. 21+. 617-536-1950, www.machine-boston.com

The deal: Every Wednesday, Machine puts on an amateur drag competition, hosted by Sapphira Cristal and Violencia!, called Show Me Your Stuff. The audience-chosen winner usually gets a gift card to the costume shop Dorothy’s Boutique. But on special occasions, the champ is also offered a spot in the main drag show later that evening. Wednesday’s special Thanksgiving-themed “Show Me Your Stuff-ing” is one such night. “Usually, Show Me Your Stuff is very low key, and no high expectations. Everybody just shows up and it’s a very welcoming vibe,” says Severity Stone, one of the performers in the main drag show. “This is the same idea on a larger scale.”

The DJ: DJ Diver (a.k.a. Ian McDade), plus a few other yet-to-be-announced DJs, will be spinning a set full of bounce, hip-hop, and Top 40, with some trap and dubstep thrown in. “It’s just going to be kind of a mixed bag,” says McDade. “There’s going to be some really shaking music.”

Three songs you’ll hear:Fall Into the Sky,” by Zedd and Lucky Date feat. Ellie Goulding; “Jah No Partial,” by Major Lazer feat. Flux Pavilion; “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” by Busta Rhymes.

Who goes there: “It’s different every week. It depends on what events are going on around Fenway,” says McDade. “There’s a lot of younger guys who come to support their friends who perform.”
