On “Take Me Home,” the follow-up to their chart-topping debut “Up All Night,” One Direction easily proves it can perform enjoyably catchy, richly harmonious, and solidly crafted songs about puppy love. The British quintet also proves that the formula is good but not foolproof. While “Take Me Home” is sleek and upbeat, a few tunes hew too closely to the generic template and fail to grab. But as boy bands go, fans-- and their wary parents-- could do much worse.
