JOSH REYNOLDS FOR THE BOSTON GLOBE
Anantawan has only one arm, but he is an accomplished violinist now training a youth orchestra in one of Boston's poorest neighborhoods.
The Dudamel Orchestra is made up of 40 students in third to sixth grade at the Conservatory Lab Charter School in Brighton.
Nobody at the school talks much these days about their teacher’s right arm. They’re too busy practicing.
“What accessibility is, in my mind, is raising the series of potential development for any child,” says Anantawan.
Anantawan is driven by the idea that music is “an inherent civil right.”
