Isn't it too bad that the BSO doesn't offer Alan Gilbert THE WORLD to come an be our new director? Yes, even though he would prefer to stay in NYC. I have heard him twice with the BSO. Nevr have they sounded better and more interested in playing with their conductor and for the music. OH how sad that he goes back to NYC and the Boston synphony doesn't have him for a music director and conductor. The music Thursday night was clean, full of many layers, vital, and emminently understandable. I wish I coud have returned Friday to hear, especially the two less performed pieces.
I'm baffled by your comment. "Oh come on Mr. Eichler!" What does that mean? This was a very positive review of the concert conducted by Alan Gilbert, whom you obviously admire, so what's your beef?

I hope Alan Gilbert is invited back more often.
