Smashed! Showgirls with ‘Something Extra’

Friday, doors at 7:30 p.m., show at 8 p.m. Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave. Tickets: $15, Reservations strongly encouraged. 617-536-0966,

The deal: Tonight, a trio of drag queens supreme will be giving their regards to Broadway at the debut of their new monthly revue. These saucy vaudevillians will be bringing the laughs, the moves, and plenty of glitter to one of the city’s longest-running LGBT-friendly nightclubs. This quirky cabaret features interactive performances along with raffles, games, and special guests.

The music: Following the Broadway-meets-Vaudeville aesthetic, resident DJ Susan Esthera will be playing a stack of playbill favorites along with a sprinkling of Top 40 hits in the mix.

The scene: “Everyone loves Broadway,” says performer and event coordinator Sean “Rainbow Frite” McCarthy. He expects the crowd at the show to run the demographic gamut, “bachelorettes, people in the fashion industry, beauticians, plastic surgeons, young professionals — even my parents are coming.”

The dress: Creative attire is encouraged: from ball gowns to latex, (almost) anything goes.

The tip: Indulge. Grab a pre-show dinner off Club Cafe’s full menu and get 20 percent off your food purchase by showing your ticket stubs to your server. And be sure not to miss the venue’s extensive list of specialty cocktails. McCarthy recommends ordering the Flirtini and keeping an open mind, “The more you drink, the prettier we look!”
