Friday, 10 p.m., Great Scott, 1222 Commonwealth Ave., Allston. 21+. Cover: $5. 617-566-9014, www.greatscottboston.com
The deal: Boston-based party band SPF 5000 returns to perform for their second appearance at The Pill, the popular Brit-pop & indie dance party that has been going since 1997. SPF 5000 has lately been performing shows in New York, where its label, Knight Time Records, is based. SPF 5000 is a “futuristic funk band,” said singer Amy Douglas, who notes the band will be debuting their newest single, “Hit the Ground Running,” at The Pill, with more singles to come in early 2014.
Additional performers: DJ Ken, DJ Michael V, both resident DJs.
Three songs you’ll hear: “Make Love to Me,” “Hit the Ground Running,” and “Nicky Digital,” by SPF 5000.
The crowd: A high-energy crowd who wants to let go . . . of attire, that is. “I would love to see at least one naked person,” said Douglas.
The tip: Douglas suggests partiers wear loose clothing and good footwear. Anyone, male or female, who comes in wearing a tiara will be rewarded with a special prize. According to Douglas, anyone wearing a hula skirt and a tiara will be showered with up to $10 of SPF 5000’s hard-earned money.Vanessa Fernandes can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
