BRUCE ALMIGHTY ½

(Comcast Movie Collections: Summer Blockbusters) Jim Carrey plays a TV reporter to whom God (Morgan Freeman) gives all His powers — and who promptly uses them to entertain himself and improve his life. This comedy is basically about getting Carrey to stop acting up. But without his misbehaving, there’s no movie. Well, there’s no interesting movie — just more Jim-Carrey-catching-the-holy-ghost mumbo jumbo. (PG-13; runs through June 25) Wesley Morris

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

(Comcast Movie Collections: Summer Blockbusters) Hugh Jackman muscles his way through this prequel, all $10 gazillion and 107 minutes of it. As the title implies, we’re presented with the early years of the X-Men’s most volatile mutant. If only the moviemaking were as steroidal as some of the bodies. (PG-13; runs through June 25) Wesley Morris

GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM ½

(Comcast Movie Collections: Worth Fighting For) Robin Williams on a militant roll, nuking the army and the Vietnam War with a nonstop series of manic raps as a Saigon GI DJ. Back in 1987, this was the film his fans had been waiting for ever since he started making movies. (R; runs through June 18)
