In this case the “F” stands for fatherhood, specifically the kind experienced by a group of middle-age punk and rock stars, some of whom had poor or no role models. Just in time for Father’s Day, this documentary looks at the parenting styles of dudes more accustomed to flailing around onstage than chasing toddlers or dealing with tweens. “The two dominatrixes on my arm? How do you explain that to a 4-year-old?,” wonders Fat Mike of NOFX about his tattoos. For artists whose ethos hinges on challenging authority, Jim Lindberg of Pennywise observes “It’s tough to be a punk rock hero and still be a good authority figure for your kid.” Other dads chiming in include pro skater Tony Hawk, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, Lars Frederiksen of Rancid, and Art Alexakis of Everclear.
