Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

Comedy Bang! Bang! 10 p.m., IFC

Based on the podcast of the same name, this antic show is part late-night talk show spoof, part sketch comedy show, and all nutty. Creator/host Scott Aukerman, late of “Mr. Show” and “Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis,” wisely enlists up-for-anything actors, comics, and celebrities to come on and play along with his and bandleader Reggie Watts’s quirky reindeer games. Tonight’s playdate is with Jon Hamm (above right, with Aukerman) of “Mad Men,” who, based on his footloose “Saturday Night Live” performances, should provide plenty of laughs.

Judy Garland: By Myself 10 p.m., Channel 2

The “American Masters” series presents this look at the life of the screen legend. While “The Wizard of Oz” star’s story is hardly untold, the twist here is that it’s told in part in her own words from recordings she made for an unpublished autobiography. Those recordings were re-created by actress Isabel Keating, who played Garland in “The Boy From Oz” opposite Hugh Jackman, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award.
