Critic’s corner: What’s on TV

DirectTV

Hit & Miss 10 p.m., DirecTV

I love Chloe Sevigny. She has a wide-eyed poker face, but she knows how to let fear, or envy, or malice, leak into her expression. She was remarkable in “Boys Don’t Cry,” and she was my favorite person on “Big Love,” making conniving sister-wife Nicki both tragic and hysterical. Tonight, Sevigny (it’s pronounced seven-knee) returns to TV, but only for those who have DirecTV satellite service. The rest of us slobs will need to wait for the DVDs. The show, which premieres after the return of Glenn Close in “Damages” at 9, features Sevigny as a male-to-female transexual hit man. Yup, that’s what I said.

Toddlers & Tiaras 9 p.m., TLC

“Breaking Bad”? What. Ever. This is the show I’ve been waiting to see, and finally it returns with a new set of episodes. Nothing like a bunch of parents treating their children like little dolls, waxing their eyebrows, and dressing them up like birthday gifts. So entertaining. Thank you, TLC!
