Sigourney Weaver as Elaine Barrish and Carla Gugino as Susan Berg in “Political Animals.”

Political Animals   Sunday at 10 p.m., USA

This six-part soap is an election-year confection. It’s all about a dysfunctional former first family, with lots of cheating and boozing against the backdrop of international crises.
