America’s Got Talent 8 p.m., Channel 7
The season continues. And continues, and continues. These primetime talent shows – not just “America’s Got Talent” but “American Idol,” “The X Factor,” and “The Voice” – go on way too long. Over the course of a few months, they deliver more episodes than some cable series do over a few years. Pictured (from left): Howard Stern, Nick Cannon, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel.
Trust Us With Your Life 9 and 9:30 p.m., Channel 5
Last week, show host Fred Willard (pictured) was arrested on suspicion of lewd behavior in an adult theater in Hollywood. Willard, 72, whose vast credits include “This Is Spinal Tap,” “Waiting for Guffman,” “Roseanne,” and “Modern Family” (he played Phil’s dad), was quickly fired by PBS from his job as narrator for “Market Warriors.” That seems extreme to me; he was arrested on suspicion, for one thing, and for a crime that is victimless — a stupid crime, but still. He doesn’t deserve to be blacklisted. As of this writing, ABC has not decided to pull this already filmed series, which features Jerry Springer and Florence Henderson tonight.
