Louie 10:30 p.m., FX
I’m a little obsessed with Parker Posey’s performance in tonight’s episode, the conclusion of a two-parter in which Louie and Posey’s bookstore clerk go on a date. I saw an advance copy of the half-hour, and I can’t shake it. Posey (pictured) is crazy good, riding a roller coaster of mood and emotion that will leave you confused and moved. If you thought she was just an indie-attitude actress, think again. She is another one of this season’s strong female guest performances on “Louie,” alongside Melissa Leo and Gaby Hoffmann. In his relationships with women, Louie is remarkably passive, but Posey’s character just might shake up that pattern.
Wilfred 10 p.m., FX
At the end of last week’s episode, Wilfred (Jason Gann) sits with a broad smile on his face. Turns out, he’s just overheated and his mouth is open to help him cool off. That’s the kind of humor that makes “Wilfred” a treat for dog lovers (although dogs do really smile, even when they’re not hot; really, they do). I’ve gotten so fond of this series, which last week delivered a classic about the age-old dog-baby conflict. If you’ve ever dealt with introducing your dog to a new child, on-demand the episode asap.
