NBC is using the platform of the Olympics to launch several new shows including this frantic, and often frantically unfunny, one about a smug veterinarian (the great Justin Kirk from “Weeds”) and the wacky folks who work at his hospital including Dr. Rizzo, played by the nimble Crystal, a monkey in a lab coat who motors around on a toy ambulance. The cast features some very likable actors including Kirk, Tyler Labine, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher, so hopefully more “Practice” will make perfect, or at least evolve into a funnier show.
