What’s on TV tonight: Critic’s corner

MELISSA MOSELEY/COLUMBIA PICTURES

Superbad 8 p.m., FX

This movie is up against MTV’s “The Inbetweeners” — a re-airing of last week’s premiere at 8:25 p.m. and a new episode at 10:30 p.m. So it’s a coming-of-age-off. “Superbad” and “The Inbetweeners” overlap in tone and content a lot, as both revolve around three unpopular high school boys obsessing over sex and booze. Ultimately, go with the movie, which features sharper and raunchier writing, as well as lived-in performances by (from left) Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Jonah Hill.

Count It Down: Hollywood’s Quickest Marriages 9 p.m., TV Guide Network

Is this schadenfreude? Or is the TV Guide Network simply giving these divorced people the attention they wanted in the first place? Among those who may be included: Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd
(9 months), Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney (4 months, above), Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock (3 months), Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries (72 days), and Britney Spears and Jason Alexander (55 hours).
