JINDABYNE ½

(Comcast Free Movies) Adapted from a Raymond Carver story by the gifted Australian director Ray Lawrence, this muted drama is a mish-mash but an interesting one. Laura Linney and Gabriel Byrne play a back-country couple torn apart over his discovery during a fishing trip of a dead girl’s body. The domestic scenes are powerful, the film’s attempts to deal with Australia’s racial legacy less so. (R; runs through Nov. 8)

THE RAID: REDEMPTION ½

(Comcast Movie Collections: Same Day as DVD) An amazing Indonesian action-movie mash-up in which a group of cops have to conquer a crime lord’s apartment building one floor at a time. Choreographed with jaw-dropping style by the Welsh-born writer-director Gareth Evans, it’s poised at the midway point between an ultraviolent video game and a neo-classic dance musical. In Indonesian, with English subtitles. (R; runs through
Nov. 14)

TEEN WOLF TOO

(Comcast Free Movies) Jason Bateman stars as a freshman science major whose transformation into werewolf makes him a school hero. Unfunny comedy trashes the familiar horror movie beast. (PG; runs through Nov. 8)
