Masterpiece Mystery!: Wallander III 9 p.m., Channel 2

Just when you think you’ve found your dream home, a corpse turns up. Such is the luck of disconsolate detective Kurt Wallander, Kenneth Branagh (above) back for a third go-round both as star and producer. “He seems to live just for the job and to have a kind of empathy for the victims of a crime that is almost dangerous to him in the way that it’s sort of emotionally debilitating,” Branagh told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour recently of his title character. When asked how it felt to be referred to by his newly bestowed title of “Sir,” Branagh said “Well, I’m not adjusting at all. It’s kind of thrilling to hear.”
