The Mortified Sessions 10 p.m., Sundance Channel

Tig Notaro has had a topsy-turvy year. The stand-up comic and “This American Life” contributor (above) had been enjoying wider acclaim for her clever brand of comedy, and then in quick succession her mother died, she broke up with her girlfriend, and was diagnosed with cancer. She tackled all of this — including the cancer diagnosis on the day she received it — in an acclaimed live set championed by Louis C.K. For this series on cringeworthy adolescent reminscing, Notaro recalls the horror of repeating eighth grade and eventually the liberation of dropping out of school. (Don’t try this at home, kids.) Also on Monday’s “Mortified” docket is affable “Parenthood” actor Jason Ritter.
