Boardwalk Empire 9 p.m., HBO2

Last night’s episode, which repeats tonight, is one of the season’s best. Steve Buscemi (above), the writers, and the director (Ed Bianchi) deliver a strong sense of what it’s like to survive an explosion. They bring us inside Nucky’s impaired eyesight and hearing, as well as his jumbled thinking. It’s as if he’s underwater for a minute, then back up to the surface, then down again.
