The Mindy Project 9:30 p.m., Channel 25

Turns out Mindy on “The Mindy Project” is not as far as we thought from Kelly Kapoor on “The Office.” Aside from the whole being-a-good-doctor thing, she’s absurdly superficial. But Mindy Kaling is funny, and she pulls off this balancing act between smart and ridiculous. I’m not sure about Chris Messina’s character, Danny — he’s still an unlikely romantic interest. Doomsday Preppers Bugged Out 8 p.m., National Geographic

I call redundancy.

Mankind: The Story of All of Us 9 p.m., History Channel

Speak for yourself. I’m a unicorn.

New Girl 9 p.m., Channel 25

50 Shades of Schmidt
