Wives With Beehives 10 p.m., TLC

It’s time to vintage, everyone. Yes, that’s a new verb. This special looks at four women who have decided that they want to return to the 1950s. Yes, women. Looking for “old-fashioned values and morals,” they wear retro outfits and fill their houses with ’50s furniture. Are they sitting on a tinderbox of suppressed rage, too? “The modern world looks confusing, scary, and kind of ugly,” one of them says.

Rocket City Rednecks 9 p.m., National Geographic

A bunch of Southern guys meet up on weekends to build weird things — a kitchen on a bicycle, for example, or, for some reason, a drone that can fit into a backpack. Tonight’s first mission is to build a contraption that will enable a disabled veteran to hunt boar. The second: to construct a one-man flying machine. The third: to talk with heavy accents so all this won’t seem too boring.
