Sugar Dome Sunday at 8 p.m., Food Network
For a second there, I had a Tina Turner “Beyond Thunderdome” flash. But alas, this show has nothing to do with plastic Slinky ear muffs and chain-link dresses with insane shoulder pads. On “Sugar Dome,” hosted by David Bull, a group of cake designers, graffiti artists, sand sculptors, costume designers, and others compete for a $15,000 prize. Sunday’s mission: To create something edible based on “The Wizard of Oz.” Follow the caramel brick road.
Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Sunday at 9 p.m., Channel 2
Season 3 premieres next Sunday. Tonight, PBS is rairing the Christmas special finale from season 2, in case you want to remind yourself of where the story left off. Mr. Bates is on trial and the relationship between Matthew Crawley and Lady Mary takes a new turn. By the way, avoid season 3 spoilers at all costs. The season has already aired and been discussed online in the UK, and big things happened at Downton.
