CRIMINAL LAW

(Encore on Comcast) Good performances by Gary Oldman and Kevin Bacon, as a defense lawyer and his psychopathic client, can’t lift this courtroom thriller from mediocrity. (R; runs through April 1)

ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT

(Comcast Movie Collections: Just In) For their fourth outing, prehistoric pals Manny the mammoth (Ray Romano), Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo), and saber tooth Diego (Denis Leary) are dropped into a pirate tale that couldn’t feel any more arbitrarily conceived. Peter Dinklage works hard as an amusingly designed, gold-toothed monkey mariner, but there’s a sense that we’re watching filler. Jennifer Lopez is his tigress first mate. (PG; runs through April 25)

CITY OF INDUSTRY

(Comcast Free Movies) Flavorful neo-noir that rides Harvey Keitel’s performance as an old-style thief out to get the double-crosser (Stephen Dorff) who killed his brother. Famke Janssen is impressive, too, as the working-class wife of another of the double-crosser’s victims. They help the film past conventional moves through LA’s new multi-culti underworld. (R; runs through
April 26)
