Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

The Americans 10 p.m., FX

FX continues to be on a roll, with dramas and comedies (except “Anger Management”) that are both vital and different from anything on the networks. From “Archer” and “Wilfred” to “Justified” and “Louie,” the lineup moves from strength to strength. “The Americans” fits right in, as a pair of Soviet spies live undercover in 1981 suburbia. Wednesday’s episode of the series shows the uglier side of Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys). Despite their wholesome image, they’re a pair of thugs.
