Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

The Americans 10 p.m., FX

FX continues to be on a roll, with dramas and comedies (except “Anger Management”) that are both vital and different from anything on the networks. From “Archer” and “Wilfred” to “Justified” and “Louie,” the lineup moves from strength to strength. “The Americans” fits right in, as a pair of Soviet spies live undercover in 1981 suburbia. Wednesday’s episode of the series shows the uglier side of Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys). Despite their wholesome image, they’re a pair of thugs.

Savage Family Diggers 10 p.m., Spike

Ric Savage and his company continue to comb America for missing or buried historical artifacts, landing on Wednesday night in South Boston at Whitey’s Bar. Turns out the bartender pawned a gold pin that Ric thinks might be part of “Boston Strong Boy” John L. Sullivan’s championship belt. Will the owner let him search the bar’s basement for other bare-knuckle boxing artifacts?

Fried Chicken Paradise 11 p.m., Travel Channel

Grease is the word.

Nashville 10 p.m., Channel 5

Call them Deacon Blues.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation 10 p.m., Channel 4

Mac Taylor comes to town. CS-Oy.
