THE PARENT TRAP ½

(Showtime on Comcast) A glossy, earnest, but not terribly involving remake of the 1961 original. Lindsay Lohan recycles the

double role originated by Hayley Mills, playing twin sisters separated since birth who meet and scheme to reunite their long-
divorced parents. Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid bring charm to the parental roles, but can’t do much to ease much transparent string-pulling. (PG; runs through March 20)

(Showtime on Comcast) A slick, testosterone-powered action thriller in which good guys Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage must break into Alcatraz, where renegade Marine General Ed Harris is holding hostages and threatening San Francisco with missiles containing poison gas. (R; runs through March 20)

(Showtime on Comcast) There are more misses than hits in this uneven parody of summer camp movies with their requisite randy counselors. (R; runs through March 20)
