(Comcast Free Movies) In Zhang Yimou’s martial-arts “Rashomon,” a nameless assassin (Jet Li) recounts to a power-hungry king different versions of the story of how he killed three assassins. It’s exemplary filmmaking — a movie so pretty, color-coordinated, and willing to have fun that you could probably ask it out to the prom. In Mandarin, with subtitles. (PG-13; runs through Aug. 31)

Wesley Morris

(Comcast Movie Collections: Just In) A bleakly comic, brutally Darwinian gangland saga that at times comes close to being this year’s “Drive.” Writer-director Andrew Dominik jettisons novelist George V. Higgins’s Boston settings for a generic urban wasteland during the 2008 economic collapse. Brad Pitt, Scoot McNairy, and James Gandolfini stand out in a cast full of mean, mouthy, small-time thugs. (R; runs through Sept. 29)

Ty Burr

(Comcast Free Movies) There’s a lovely fairy tale quality to this original chronicle of an Italian family in London that gets drawn into a crime with its roots in revenge. (PG; runs through June 1)
