THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL

(HBO on Comcast) Proof that art-house movies can be as clichéd as multiplex fare. A comedy-drama about a group of British retirees at a ramshackle hotel in Jaipur, India, it’s predictable fluff aimed at desperate or undemanding 50-plus audiences. Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, and Tom Wilkinson almost turn it into something. (PG-13; runs through May 27)

OCEAN’S ELEVEN ½

(Comcast Free Movies) In every way smarter and livelier than the 1960 original, which starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and other Rat Packers. This entertaining remake, starring coolsters George Clooney and Brad Pitt and directed by Steven Soderbergh, is a juicy ensemble workout posing as a heist movie about lowlifes determined to steal $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos. (PG-13; runs through May 11)

WORLD TRAVELER

(Showtime on Comcast) With some good-looking charm, Billy Crudup makes a young father who leaves his family into something of a hero — or at least into a likable guy. In doing so, he ever so gently lifts writer-director Bart Freundlich’s story above its muddle of cliches. (R; runs through May 28)
