Critic’s Corner: What’s on TV this weekend

AFI Lifetime Achievement Award: A Tribute to Mel Brooks Saturday, 9 p.m., TNT

He’s a member of the EGOT club. (That is, he’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award.) He’s a Kennedy Center honoree. He’s responsible for such side-splitters as “Blazing Saddles,” “The Producers,” and “Young Frankenstein,” and worked on classics like “Get Smart” and “Your Show of Shows.” And he’s still sharp, and sharply funny. At the Television Critics Association press tour this past winter, Brooks brushed off being called a “comedy giant.” “I’m not such a comedy giant, I’m five-six,” he quipped. “There are guys not as funny, but they are bigger, and I think that counts.”
