Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Friday

Discovery channel

Warlocks Rising 9 p.m., Discovery Channel

Move over, Mr. Mojo. This new reality series chronicles the subculture of a motorcycle club in Florida called the Warlocks. It’s another “real-life ‘Sons of Anarchy’,” along with Discovery’s “The Devils Ride.” The Discovery promotional material calls the Warlocks a “secret brotherhood,” so, well, not so secret anymore, guys. In the premiere, a club member gets released from jail.

Key Largo Saturday 8 p.m., TCM

There aren’t a lot of fresh shows on Saturday nights during the summer — or, actually, any time of year. It’s a good night to catch up on your DVR and On Demand type stuff. BUT: It’s also a good night to submit to one of the great old movies lurking on the schedule, often on TCM. Get with the black and white, people, and watch or rewatch or re-rewatch this 1948 classic from director John Huston, about a gangster holding hostages in Florida in a hurricane. Humphrey Bogart (left), Lauren Bacall, Lionel Barrymore, Edward G. Robinson, and supporting actress Oscar winner Claire Trevor star.
