American Horror Story: Coven 10 p.m., FX

Full Circle 9 p.m., DirecTV

Filmmaker and playwright Neil LaBute, of “In the Company of Men” and “Your Friends & Neighbors,” wrote this 10-episode series. Each half-hour takes place in the same restaurant, with two characters having dinner. One of them then appears in the next half-hour, eating with someone else. The script is filled with LaBute’s trademark provocative dialogue – he knows the hurtful power of words – and the big issues include adultery and homophobia. The cast includes Minka Kelly, Julian McMahon, David Boreanaz, Billy Campbell, Kate Walsh, Cheyenne Jackson, and Ally Sheedy. (Pictured, from left, Boreanaz and McMahon.)
