Glee 9 p.m., Fox
Get out your hankies, people. This is the episode that will break the news of the death of Finn Hudson, who was played by the late actor Cory Monteith (pictured, with Lea Michele). According to show co-creator Ryan Murphy, we won’t learn exactly how Finn died in the episode, which will feature the return of a number of former New Directions members. The idea is to focus on Finn’s life, and pay tribute to Monteith along the way.
Parenthood 10 p.m., NBC
Who is benefiting from NBC’s dire straits? “Parenthood” fans, along with fans of “Parks and Recreation,” “Community,” and a few other low-rated shows that would have been canceled on a more successful network. The beloved multigenerational family drama has returned with typically mediocre ratings but with its typically great cast. This episode re-creates one of those excruciating life moments, when Jasmine and Crosby’s baby won’t stop crying in a restaurant. Crosby, played by Dax Shepard, goes nuts.
