Critic’s corner: What’s on TV this weekend

Saturday Night Live 11:30 p.m., NBC

It’s the return of Bruno. The last time Bruce Willis hosted the show it was 1989. Paula Abdul was “Straight Up” at the top of the charts, “Roseanne” was tops in TV, and Indiana Jones was taking his last crusade. (Musical guest Katy Perry would’ve been about 5 years old then.) Hopefully, the comedy won’t feel dated, but it seems a sure bet we’ll get some “Die Hard” jokes. And maybe a few more of the new kids will get a chance to strut their stuff. But with such a stuffed cast of main and featured players, standing out is going to be a challenge this season. (Pictured: Cecily Strong, left, and Bruce Willis.)
