Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Monday night

The Sing-off 9 p.m. NBC

Matching sweaters! Bad boy fedoras! Awkward choreography! No, my friends, I’m not describing a Color Me Badd reunion concert. This is the return of “The Sing-off.” The NBC a cappella extravaganza features singing groups that discriminate against musical instruments. This sort of music is not exactly my cup of moonshine-infused tea, but I am grateful for “The Sing-off.” It provides meaningful employment to faded 1990s pop stars Nick Lachey, Jewel (center), Ben Folds (left), and Shawn Stockman (right). Now, can we figure out a way to get Color Me Badd onto the show? I hear they’re available.
