Snatch ★ ½

(Free on Comcast) Guy Ritchie remakes his London gangsterama, “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels” with a bigger budget and a more manufactured flavor. The mostly British cast knows the familiar moves, and Brad Pitt pops up in his “Fight Club” mode as an Irish gypsy boxing champ whose speech is all but incomprehensible. This perhaps is not a bad thing, given what does come through loud and clear from the others. (R; runs through June 5)

Rush ★ ★ ★

(Comcast Movie Collections: Just In) Unpretentious and immediate, it’s a down-and-dirty, involving a take on Kim Wozencraft’s autobiographical novel about two narcs who get hooked on the evidence. Jennifer Jason Leigh’s face is a map of the film. You can’t take your eyes off her. Jason Patric plays her charismatic partner as if convinced you can’t take your eyes off him. (R; runs through June 25)

Snow Falling on Cedars ★ ★ ★ ½

(Encore on Comcast) Scott Hicks almost miraculously lets the landscape seem to do the work of inscribing the conflicts between dispossessed Japanese-Americans and territorial locals at the end of World War II in the Pacific Northwest. Fog and snow are artfully deployed as perception-masking stand-ins for the willfully limited vision that’s the real culprit in this story of clashes that lead to death and a riveting courtroom drama, where a Japanese-American defendant seems to be on trial as much for race as for murder. (PG-13; runs through Sept. 30)
