Hunting Hitler’s Stolen Treasures: The Monuments Men
8 p.m., National Geographic Channel

During World War II, a group of men — and a few women — were enlisted to try to save the great art of Europe from being destroyed in bombings and to rescue works already looted by Hitler. They were nicknamed “The Monuments Men,” and George Clooney stars in a film on the topic that opens this week. If you want to learn more about the story and get a sneak peek at the film, check out this NatGeo special, which chronicles the group’s members — many with ties to Boston — and their exploits, including an interview with one of the last surviving Monuments Men. It also features interviews with historians and cast members from the film.
