Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Monday

Transparent streaming on Amazon.com

It’s pilot season on Amazon, which means you can watch five new shows and participate in television democracy to help the website decide which should be picked up for a full season. This process didn’t produce any hits last year (um, yeah you “Alpha House”), but I’ve starting watching the new pilots, and I adore “Transparent.” The HBO-worthy show stars Jeffrey Tambor, plus Judith Light (yes!) and Gabby Hoffmann. “Transparent,” which focuses on a Los Angeles family, was created by Jill Soloway, who had a hand in “Six Feet Under” and “United States of Tara.” The acting is incredible and the family is more scrambled than a bowl of eggs. Worst Cooks in America 9 p.m., Food Network

This is the cooking show for the rest of us. Sure, it’s great to see TV chefs create beautiful masterpieces as they gracefully move about a spotless kitchen. But have you ever tried to make a blue cheese souffle or croquembouche? I can tell you that it takes more than 30 minutes. Which is why I can relate to these amateurs. Tonight we meet the two teams of horrible chefs as they try to make pizza without assistance from either Papa Gino or Papa John.

Teen Wolf 10 p.m., MTV

Scott finds himself in a hairy situation. Stop rolling your eyes, that was funny.

Star-Crossed 8 p.m., CW

Loving the alien.

The Bachelor 8 p.m., ABC

The bloom is off the rose.
