Critic’s corner: What is on TV Thursday

Tony Behar/Bravo

Inside the Actors Studio 8 p.m., Bravo

Matthew McConaughey has received a Golden Globe award, a SAG award, and an Oscar nomination for his work in “Dallas Buyers Club.” A likely Emmy nomination is in his future for his fine work on HBO’s “True Detective,” which had another strong episode this week. Clearly, the McConnaisance is in full flower. Which makes it the perfect time for McConaughey to set a spell with James Lipton and muse about how he went from rom-com eye candy to serious contender with great roles in the past few years including “Mud” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” No doubt he will continue to extol his motto: just keep livin’.

Killer Karaoke 10 p.m., truTV

Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath hosts this mash-up of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” and “Fear Factor” as contestants try to carry a tune while being distracted by challenges that include facing down all manner of bugs, having liquid dumped on their heads, and being attacked by guard dogs.
