The Millers 8:30 p.m., CBS

Oh my lord, this one is a big old bummer. I keep giving it a second chance, and I keep recoiling in disappointment. The cast, especially Margo Martindale, has comic timing, but the material just doesn’t back them up. It’s the same easy joke over and over again, without any shifting nuance. I’m so glad Martindale is going to return to “The Americans” this season, so I can work to erase my memory of her in this bunk.

Game of Stones 8 p.m., Discovery

Did you think what I thought when I saw the title of this show, and I’m not talking about how it’s a takeoff on “Game of Thrones”? Well, it’s not about those, exactly. It’s about rare stone collector Don Kogen, who travels the earth in search of money I mean gems. He has a team, of course, and they face danger as they make their way through the likes of Thailand, Turkey, India, and Tanzania.
