Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Wednesday night

Monty Brinton/CBS

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation 10 p.m., CBS

Here’s a fall pilot dressed up as a regular episode. A cyber-CSI team comes in to help with a case — the same team, led by Patricia Arquette, that will have its own series, “CSI: Cyber,” next season. Because really, we need more “CSI” series, really we do. Also in the new cast: Gil Bellows from “Ally McBeal” and Cheyenne Jackson from “30 Rock.” Pictured (from left): Elisabeth Shue and Arquette.

GoodFellas 8 p.m., IFC

Some have said that Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” is a lot like his “GoodFellas,” and that is cuckoo-balls. “Wolf” is an overly long party that makes the same disdainful point over and over again with blandly drawn characters. “GoodFellas” is a cinematic breeze with characters who are seductive and dark. It’s a triumph of moral flips and flops. Pictured (from left): Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, and Robert De Niro.
