Queen’s Guard does ‘Game of Thrones’ theme song

The Queen’s Guard, with whom we do not recommend you mess, and who in the past have busted out satisfying enough renditions of the themes to “Batman” and “Skyfall” — as well as a not especially soul-stirring take on Pharrell Williams’s “Happy” — are at it again.

This time the fuzzy-hatted funk force slays the theme song to “Game of Thrones,” which either gives me chills because it’s so well executed, or because just hearing it triggers within me an unconscious expectation of, well, executions.

Or maybe it’s just because winter is coming.

It may drag a little in the middle (it helps if you imagine a fiery ‘80s sax solo tearing in), but the climactic finish will have you feeling like you’re soaring over the smoldering remains of Winterfell on your way to the Wall — or it will trigger flashbacks to the Tickler at Harrenhal. Really depends on your level of trauma.

(Let’s just be glad they’re not playing “The Rains of Castamere.” That would likely not end well.)
