Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Tuesday night

Dale Berman/Syfy

Wizard Wars 10 p.m., Syfy

Penn & Teller are all over the dial these days. Just a few weeks after the popular prestidigitators popped up with “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” over on The CW, the duo is also headlining this competition series. The pair, who also serve as judges, take viewers behind the curtain at a magic show. Each week a new team of magicians attempts to perform spectacular illusions using random, everyday objects — including Spam and Super Soakers. They battle a “home team” of experts, including two-time World Championship of Magic winner Gregory Wilson and mentalist Angela Funovits. K. Michelle: The Rebellious Soul Musical 10 p.m., VH1

The “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star takes center stage in this half-hour “hip-hopera” dedicated to tunes from her debut album, which will be linked to tell a story. Michelle clearly is doing something right because that story is being directed by British actor Idris
Elba (“Luther,” “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”).
