Critic’s Corner: What’s on TV Thursday


7 Deadly Sins 11 p.m., Showtime

This show from Morgan Spurlock, the hard-working guy whose pop documentary output includes “Super Size Me,” “Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden,” and the FX series “30 Days,” looks at modern versions of lust, envy, et al. This Thursday’s treat: Pride. Spurlock looks at a porn star who has life-threatening breast implants and a cryonics lab that will freeze you for $200,000, because you know we can live forever.

You’re the Worst 10:30 p.m., FX

I liked the first two episodes of the anti-romantic comedy about two cynical sourpusses falling in love. They promised a kind of Beatrice and Benedick banter and courtship. But everything I’ve seen since then has been disappointing, for a few reasons. British actor Chris Geere is good enough, but he’s hard to take in large doses. He’d be more fitting on the show as a side character. And the editing of scenes is sluggish; “You’re the Worst” is one of those comedies that needs a more upbeat, sparkling tone.

I’ve always been curious about effins.

Dating Naked 9 p.m., VH1

It’ll bum you out.

Snack-Off 10:30 p.m., MTV
