Netflix has just taken on an eight-episode limited series with an impressive list of names behind it. “Unbelievable” is based on a true story — about a teenager who was charged with lying about having been raped. That story won a Pulitzer Prize for ProPublica and the Marshall Project and was aired on the radio as an episode of “This American Life.”

The script is written by Susannah Grant, who wrote “Erin Brockovich” and “In Her Shoes,” along with Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman. Chabon is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” who also co-wrote the screenplay for “John Carter.” Waldman is the author, most recently, of “A Really Good Day,” about her experimentation with microdoses of LSD.

Grant, Chabon, and Waldman are executive producing, along with Katie Couric.
