After 30 years, Huntington Theatre’s Michael Maso plans to stick around
Behind the scenes, Maso is a driving force in Huntington’s success
For Michael Maso, managing director of the Huntington Theatre Company, troubleshooting is all part of running one of the nation’s major regional theaters — a job he’s held since the theater’s founding in 1982. “Michael’s being there allows the artists to have the freedom to create,” said Peter DuBois, the Huntington’s artistic director. On Monday night, the Huntington honors Maso’s 30 years at the theater with the Wimberly Award at its sold-out Spotlight Spectacular gala in the Park Plaza Hotel.
