Guerrilla Girls launch art protest targeting MFA

The truck carrying a 200-square-foot billboard of a nude woman with a gorilla’s head drove up to the Museum of Fine Arts front entrance.

“Do women have to be naked to get into Boston museums?” a message on the image read, with a line noting that only 11 percent of the artists represented in the MFA’s collection were women.

The works of male artists go back thousands of years.  Female artists who precede the nineteenth century could be counted on two hands. Since the MFA contains the entire historical gamut, the eleven percent makes sense to me.

Constructive criticism, considering honestly the points made, and mutual respect between the two 'sides'.

G-d, how I wish our political leaders had this ability!
